Ive been here.....i agree about the grilled meats they are not great, almost broke a tooth trying to chew the ostrich. BUT....the goat curry was insanely good. Not sure if you are still over here mike but i could show you a few good food spots in auckland 💯🍻

The food looks just "ok/meh" but the place looks dull and drab, like a 80's cafeteria or something. At that price point I'd rather eat at a buffet in Las Vegas.

Honestly your critique of maggie is right on point. It's too nostalgic for me not to love, but the noodles are def the worst part of it. It's always better with a bit of mango pickle on the side though. Also, have to recommend you try ichiban noodles! They're so underrated, but so flavorful. Great to have soupy or with a reduced broth. My list is definitely: 1. Ichiban 2. Shin 3. Maggi 4. Mama noodles (also super nostalgic, and reminds me of college)

It’s not caramel it’s sugar btw (: P.s. caramel generally has butter and as someone with a dairy allergy I could eat tanghulu, not caramel though. One way you can tell the difference is caramel is not see-through and this is.
